We were out last week. Brazil stayed in the rotation.
Back this week with two new roasts — Uganda Bugisu Sipi Falls ... again and Costa Rica La Magnolia from Tres Rios. Both came out of the roaster well. The Uganda wasn't the problem this time.
Humid Tennessee June mornings are. The Uganda is dark and bold, a good cup, just not that cup. Not right now. We'll come back to it when the weather earns it.
The Costa Rica was the opposite. Bright, light on its feet, a little maple and spice that made it feel like the coffee was built for a slow morning. Medium body, light acidity. Easy from first sip to last. Breakfast in a cup is the right description. We didn't argue about it.
That's what we're roasting this week.
This Week's Coffee La Magnolia — Tres Rios, Costa Rica Washed. 1,200–1,650 meters.
Aroma: light spice, maple syrup. Body: medium. Acidity: light. Flavor: bright, clean, lemon-orange, chocolate finish.
